The scenarios I foresee.
I strongly suggest you consider the path before you. I know with each passing day my property might be moving further and further away from me. I know with each passing day you are not apprehended you might be planning your next crime. I know with each passing day your confidence builds that you will not get caught. I know you think you are winning, and perhaps even think you’ve won and that the game is over.
It’s not. It’s only starting.
Obviously you have gone through all my boxes and learned quite a bit about me. You know more about the old me than anyone else. But that life you stole from me is over; it’s dead. Now I’m a ghost.
I imagine as you tore through all my stuff you felt like you hit the jackpot. But in the back of your head there was probably a little voice that said: “maybe we just screwed the wrong guy.” That little voice is right; I would recommend you carefully consider the options ahead of you. As I see it there are three different scenarios that will play out in your very near future.
Scenario 1: You surrender to the authorities and return my stolen life.
If you surrender to the detectives working on the case and return my stuff; I promise I will not pursue a civil lawsuit against you. I will also work to seek leniency by the prosecution and suggest to them that you be assigned an appropriate amount of community service and not be sent to prison. I understand the system of oppression we all live under. I will work with you to help you repair your name and good standing in the community. We all make mistakes and have lapses of judgment. We are all under enormous stress in this age of financial depression. You may be in a desperate situation that forced you to commit this crime. As anyone that knows me can tell you, I am sympathetic to people in such circumstances. If you return my life to me, and make amends to this community; than this crime is forgivable.
Scenario 2: Call in the Wolves.
I have the talent and skill-set to replace my stolen stuff; should I decide to. However, this whole experience has been an exercise in Zen for me, a lesson in non-attachment to material objects. I will not replace my stolen property and instead spend my resources on catching you and putting you in a concrete cell. I’m talking about bounty hunters, mercenaries, and professionals that might need a little work in this difficult economy. Are you Jason Borne with expert training, multiple passports and fluent in foreign languages? My guess is you’re probably not. What makes you think that people who hunt other people for a living can’t find you? What makes you think that someone like me, who just lost everything, won’t spend every waking minute and every last resource to apprehend you? You will get caught. Caught either by the police, mercenaries, or by someone who knows something coming forward with information. I’ll bet you have some enemies, and I bet you have a bunch of friends you can’t trust. Someone’s going to talk. I strongly suggest you consider how this is going to play out; because this game is far from over.
You left me with nothing but the clothes I was wearing that day. I sleep on a floor in some blankets the hotel gave me. I’m not going to replace the stuff you stole from me. I’m going to live with the constant reminder of my mistake to leave that truck unattended, and I’m going to focus all my energy and resources on catching you. My will and spirit will not be broken by this, in fact the opposite has happened. I’m gathering an army of wolves to hunt you down.
Scenario 3 The Cops and seeking Vengeance.
If the detectives find you and catch you, I’ll do everything I can to make sure you end up in absolute misery at a “rape my ass gulag “ for years to come. This loss has been so total and complete for me that I will haunt you forever. I’ll be there when you are sentenced, and I’ll be there if you are ever released; to make your life and the lives of those you may care about as difficult as possible. I’ll have my legal team build a civil lawsuit against you that will financially ruin you and your family. You will loose your homes and any assets your family my have. I will return the violence you have done to me, only I will use the courts and legal system to destroy your life, and take everything that you and your family has. This is not a path I want to walk when dealing with you, but if you choose not to surrender, it is exactly what will happen. I’m telling you now so you understand the consequences. I would strongly suggest you consider Scenario #1 before this gets really nasty for you and your relatives.
